How to take down cellular blinds. Hold onto the headrail with both hands. You should also wash them before you recycle them. Once all of the brackets are released the shade should come out towards you. Pull the headrail toward you to detach the blinds from the wall.
Once you have the brackets open nothing will be holding the headrail in place. You should remove all the strings from the blinds before you place them in the recycling container. This will disengage the headrail from the bracket. To recycle aluminum blinds take them to a recycling center with an aluminum recycling bin.
Move the bottom rail in the opposite direction to disconnect the other end. Twist the blade of the screwdriver. Then slide it out from the wall to remove it. This keeps the bulk of the shade out of the way of the brackets and will give you access to the front and back of the brackets assembly.
Slide the bottom rail to one side to unhook the opposite end. Once all of the brackets are released the shade should come out toward you. Unhook the bottom shade rail from the retaining brackets at the bottom of the window sill. Standard lift and top down bottom up cell shades to remove the headrail from the brackets grab the headrail and push it backward.
To remove the shade insert a flathead screwdriver between the bracket and headrail. Raise the shade until it hangs about 4 inches deep.
